If your fancy yourself a bit of a dictator you’ll feel right at home in this sumptuous suite in the heart of Paris, surrounded by Imperial French antiques, and a bust of Boney himself. The suite is dedicated to Napoleon and Josephine, furnished to reflect early 19th century Imperial France with blue and gold colour schemes, and gleaming mahogany as far as the eye can see. There’s also a balcony with stunning views of Paris, including the Palais Garnier and the Eiffel Tower, so you can sneer down at your subjects
London – The Savoy – Royal Suite

Recently refurbished, the Savoy is one of the most stylish and luxurious hotels in London, with the Royal Suite as its pinnacle of opulence and comfort. Spread across the whole 5th floor of the building, the suite looks out across the river Thames, from the Palace of Westminster to the skyscrapers of the City, taking in seven of London’s bridges on the way. When it comes to the decor the suite really lives up to its name, with black and white marble floors, grand double doors, and a wood-panelled study. And don’t worry if you’ve given your manservant the day off – the suite comes with its own dedicated butler to fulfil your every royal whim.

Named after the founder of Beanie Babies, and the highest suite in New York City – what more could you want? This vast suite (and vast really is the word – all 4,300 square feet of it) occupies the entire top floor of the building, giving its occupant a 360 degree panorama of the city, including a lovely view of the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings. Apart from giving you vertigo, this incredible suite includes a library, complete with grand piano, a rare Chinese onyx-clad master bathroom, and 24hr access to your very own chauffeured Rolls Royce.
Istanbul – Çirağan Palace Kempinski –Sultan Suite

If you don’t mind hopping into a bed Prince Charles has already used, then you won’t find a more sumptuous and palatial place to stay in Istanbul than the Sultan suite at the Çirağan Palace Kempinski. The hotel itself it was the last palace of the Ottoman Sultans, and reflects its royal lineage with lavish decor and furnishings.
