This week’s style challenge was quite different from the country look we showcased last week, and we gave Sarah Akwisombe (who is Sarah you ask? Then head here to find out all about her) the popular style of ‘industrial’ / ‘manly’. Perhaps not readily used when describing a bedroom look, but we were looking for warehouse chic, sleek, clean, rough and ready, and of course Sarah out did herself.
Starting with the centrepiece of the room (the lovely big bed), not needing any excuse Sarah chose to go bold and daring, choosing our Winchester range from our brand new furniture collection. Made with gorgeous American poplar, and metal framing, this is the height of luxury, bringing elements of modern styling and deep warm luscious wood. Using the bedframe and bedside table, Sarah was able to bring an authentic simple look, combining different elements and textures – perfect for that industrial trend we were looking to recreate.
Sarah selected a simple colour palette of white and grey, using natural Linen to soften the feel of the room. Our French Linen Grey border bed linen was given a cosy feel with a selection of throws that complimented the tone, and experimented with different shades of grey with our Cable knit throw; perfect for those cold winter nights.
How can you determine what a masculine space is? Well, Sarah thinks that it is making a space your own. Throw cushions like our Harris Tweed range are perfect for bringing textural contrasts and unique exciting touches. Our Convex mirror is perfect for adding a dramatic splash of Art deco and our Willow storage can be used to hide away bits and bobs stylishly, whilst our Oscar Complete Task lamp oozes vintage appeal. With its glorious detailing and mid-century feel, it’s quickly becoming a Soak&Sleep classic.
Tada…here’s the finished product. So there you have it, Sarah’s ‘Industrial/Manly’ room. What do you think? Comment below.
