Celebrating Wool Week 2017

“Wool is one of the most resilient, ecological and sustainable natural fibres in the world, it is also one of the safest because it is so fireproof.” HRH the Prince of Wales

It’s that time of year again when wool is being celebrated up and down the country. Funny you may think, but this campaign started in 2010 and was initiated by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Since the launch of this global endeavour, it has seen a growth of a community of consumers, wool growers, fashion designers, retailers and interiors designs who have all been taking part in many different unique and fun activities to raise awareness of the renewable, unique and the natural benefits of this wonderful fibre.

Whats all the fuss about wool?

Wool is such a fantastic soft fill for a variety of sleeping products as it has a built-in climate control, regulating body temperatures and keeping sleepers warm in and winter and cool in the summer. Wool draws moisture away from your body, letting it be easily expelled into the air, so you avoid being hot and sticky on warm nights. Our buying department uses wool for various product developments, including our new wool topper which launched this season.

Wool is also renewable, natural and resistant to mould and repels moisture. Its perfect for allergy sufferers as it’s naturally hypoallergenic and washable too.  Not only that, research has proven that using a wool duvet can increase REM sleep by 25%, and is the perfect solution for a couple as it can adapt to your body heat individually, so you’re both kept comfortable through the night.

It’s also a beautiful fabric that can be used for accessories such as our Jumbo check throw and Lambswool with silk edging – perfect for creating a cosy and stylish look. Plus we’ve got gorgeous slippers so you can dress your feet in snuggly comfort.

If you’ve been tempted over to the woolly side, take a look at our range of comfy wool-filled duvets here.

To celebrate this, we’ve teamed up with blogger Hege In France to give you an exclusive wool themed give away – head over to her blog to find out more.
