We explored the importance of colour in our last #shadesofsleep blog. Colours can spark emotions and feelings and each colour shade can affect our emotions in slightly different ways. Last week we explored Pink, Monochrome and White and this week we will discover Natural, Grey and Blue.
Brown has a positive association with warmth, nature, earthiness, reliability and support, whilst orange also has positive connotations of warmth, security, sensuality, passion, abundance and fun. Yellow tones are found to promote optimism, confidence, self-esteem, extraversion, emotional strength, friendliness and creativity. These shades sit alongside the clarity, purity, cleanliness of whites.
Our Natural #shadesofsleep offers inspiration to create simple, raw beauty in the home. From our Natural French Linen and Sphere Pendant to our Natural Towels, you can kit your house out top to bottom with a variety of natural shades to keep your home looking and feeling fresh.
Grey has psychological neutrality and can be the perfect shade to build other colours onto, however it is important to use the right tone of grey alongside the other colourways. Some grey tones can dampen other colours, so it’s important to test out colour matches first. Although, using too much grey in the home can often indicate a lack of confidence and is often associated with fear of exposure.
Our Grey #shadesofsleep can inspire the right amount of grey usage within the home. This perfect minimal shade can be found in our Luxury cotton throws as well as in our towels, french linen and 400 thread count cotton bed linens to ensure a touch of grey can be injected into each room around the house.
Blue is thought to signify intelligence, trust, logic, coolness, reflection and calmness. It is also known as the colour of the mind, emoting soothing thoughts. It affects us mentally, rather than the physical reaction that colours such as red can. Research often shows that blue is the populations favourite colour, however, at times, it can be perceived as cold, unemotional and unfriendly.
Soak&Sleep’s #shadesofsleep presents blue as a relaxed coastal style. Our Dusky Blue and Blue Stripe French linen can add to the seaside feel. Our blue ranges perfectly complement our Clerkenwell furniture ranges to achieve a calm, relaxed environment.
